Today is a sad day (technically yesterday). Jack Tripper is dead. This celebrity death is the only one that i have really felt sad about.... even Left Eye wasn't really all that sad for me. It's probably because 3's company was my (and b's) absolute favorite tv show during childhood. Jack Tripper absolutely carried that show. Anyways, I'll be watching 3's Company reruns with a heavy heart today.
what the.... i didn't even notice i was using proper capitalization. interesting.
anyways, on to a lighter note. i was watching conan yesterday (rerun), and saw that eliza dushku was on. she was the 2nd guest, so i stayed up to watch her. jesus christ, she was hot. she's probably been in my top 3 for a while. here's a picture of her on conan, and conan drooling over her.

i think kerry wood's head is about to explode...and mine right along with it. the bullpen blew another loss for him, this time a 4 run lead going into the 7th. sure, maybe if he doesn't throw 120 pitches in 6 innings, he would go longer, but i think the bullpen should be able to give up less than a run per inning. guess not. anyways, by my (very) conservative estimate, he should have about 5 more wins than he does currently, if you factor in cubs poor offense and bullpen on days he pitches.
the new white stripes video for "hardest button to button" is insanely weird, trippy, and good. it's hard to explain, but if you can, you should try to see it, even if you don't like white stripes. it can be seen on whitestripes.com

carlton's log:
went to the sox game yesterday with pact. i missed the first couple innings because of traffic, but it was ok, because i didn't miss much. going to ballparks is one of the best things to do, because although there are some exciting moments, there are a lot of chill, relaxing moments, too. it was good. the sox curse is broken, so now i'm 1-6 i think. currently, i have a two-game chicago winning streak, so i should go to more games.
also, dennis brought up how in the beginning of the year, one of his blogs was about comparing the cubs and sox staff. the question was brought up again, now that the season is almost over. i automatically said the cubs, but now that i think about it, it's a lot closer than i thought. prior and loaiza cancel. zambrano and wood i think are better than colon and buehrle, but not by much. clement has an edge over garland, but garland has been also good lately. let's not talk about the 5th men in the rotation. anyways, they are pretty close.
oh, so as most of you know, my job status has always been in limbo. earlier this year, MAIN was supposed to be terminating everyone around november 1st. now that the blackout happened, the end date is delayed untile mid-next year. score. more time to sit around and not look for a job.
i feel like playing poker. the last two times i've played (one online and one real), i've been stupid on my final hands. NO MORE! CHECK.. CHECK...CHECK..CHECK. pay dat mayan hees mahney.
