hello.

i finally bought a car. an rsx type-s. it's damn nice. at first i wanted a performance sedan-type, like a TL, 3-series, A4, etc. but after considering i'll mostly be driving myself around, and didn't really need the room (or pay 35+ G's), it was between the rx-8, rsx-s, and the g35 coupe. oh yeah, i said i couldn't pay 35+ G's, so there goes the g35c. so it was either the rx-8 or rsx-s. i really tried to convince myself to buy an rx-8, but there were too many reported problems with it, especially with it being a first-year production car, and i also really liked the rsx-s, so there you go. it's sitting in darien now, but i just got my cheesehead plates and insurance, so i'll be good to go (coming back to darien thursday to pick it up). so yes, my first new car. when you see me, i'll give you a ride, although i won't be able to redline or do anything cool until i break it in.

oh, i also went to miller park last week and watched the cubs. it's a pretty nice place to watch a game, but of course they picked that game as the only game to lose in the series, bringing my record to like 1-10.

the best part of the game was when danny kolb came in the 9th to close it out. i guess these wrestler-type entrances for closers are becoming more common. when gagne comes in, they flash "GAME OVER" and his mug on the scoreboard, with "welcome to the jungle" blaring over the loudspeakers. i also read when shingo comes in now, they have a big gong, and start playing japanese music while he walks out. then they play the gong after each out he gets. hilarious. anyways, for kolb, one of the most boring closers in the game, they put his name in huge letters with fiery graphics on the scoreboard. then they show highlights of 4 of his 9 strikeouts this season, all while blasting godsmack over the PA. i could not stop laughing. then he shut down the cubs in the 9th, and i stopped laughing.

laters.
