alright, baseball is over. the past 10 blogs have been about the cubs. now, there will be some normal blog topics...
such as bitching about work. yayay.
i have a few days off now, but starting on october 25, i will be starting an insane stretch of work. 10(!) days of work in a row. and 7 of those days will be of the 12 hour variety. the other 3 will be 8 hour days, which i suppose is supposed to feel like days off. :( :( :( :( :( :( so basically, next week i will be working 80+ hours. i wouldn't mind so much if i was getting paid extra at all, but i'm just getting paid for a normal 40 hour week. >:-0
PLUS, i will have to work 5am-5pm one day, and turn around and work 5pm-5am the next, which will be brutal. BOOOO.
fyi, this is not my normal schedule, it's all because of some system blackout restoration drill i'm helping to coordinate. but after this stretch, hopefully the rest of the year will be ok.
sorry if all this complaining is tiring, but i need to vent. i feel dead from three 12-hour days, i can't imagine working 10 in a row.

oh, here's a kinda interesting thing my coworker told me. first, here's a scenario:
a woman and her sister were at their mother's funeral. there, the woman sees the man of her dreams. all she can think about for the rest of the day is this man. two days later, she kills her sister. why?

ok, the answer they always come up with is that the woman killed her sister so she could see the man again, this time at her sister's funeral. weird. that answer would never enter your head.
